Can you tell me what van is best to buy as my base vehicle?
We recommend a Panel van as a base vehicle, it is a good blank canvas to begin the build. There are other vehicles such a Kombis, but you will pay extra for the seats and will need to sell these on after.
I am building my own van – can you supply some parts?
Yes, we can do supply only on many parts, please contact us for more information.
If i supply you the parts, can you do the fitting only?
I’m afraid we do not offer a fitting only service.
Do you do van servicing and repairs?
We do not do any servicing, but can give you a local contact who may be able to help.
How do I get home after dropping my van off?
We are situated around 15 minutes from Newquay airport and 30 minutes from Bodmin Train station.
What is the build time on your conversions?
Our conversion times do vary. Around 1 week for a Solid Base, 2 weeks for a Day Van, 4 weeks on a Venture van and 5 weeks on an Explorer. Please note that build time can vary with extras and custom builds.
What is the warranty on your conversions?
Most of our parts come with their own warranty 1 – 5 years depending on the item. Our workmanship comes with a 2 year warranty on the build.
How do I secure my booking , do you need a deposit?
Yes, we will require a 10% deposit of the total Invoice to secure any dates discussed. 40% once the van has been dropped off and the final balance upon collection.
Is my van insured whilst in your workshop?
Yes we are insured to have your vehicle on site at Basecampers.
Can I visit your workshop to discuss my ideas?
Yes please do, By appointment only. We highly recommend a visit to Basecampers, it is good to talk through your campervan dreams and you can see what we do.
