Elevating pop top roof – Skyline
Base Campers® supply and fit Skyline front pop top roofs. We choose to work with this particular manufacturer as the roofs have proved to be outstanding quality and feature a marine-grade fabric canvas that can be ordered in a colour of your choice. Based on our experience of other manufacturers and customer feedback, we feel Skyline is the best quality and value for money. With a Skyline pop top roof, you can maximise your space without compromising your van aesthetically.
The Skyline Pop top is vacuum molded into a honeycomb structure which means it will never lose its shape. This process makes their roof caps considerably stronger than traditional layered fibre glassing. There is no through bolting in the roof cap. This removes the possible problem of leaking bolt holes and looks much more asthetically pleasing from the outside. The full internal strengthening frame puts back the structure into the body of the van. Volkswagen UK have reviewed this and approved this. Skyline use high lift rear hinges as standard which gives adults the room to sleep in the roof. The hinges are stainless steel and therefore never rust! The canvas is made up of a water resistant material which comes in an array of colours.
Unlike a lot of pop tops on the market today Skyline Roofs have been designed to carry a roof rack system that can hold up to 60kgs.

Fitting only – This includes a strengthening frame, and fitting.

Carpeting of metal work – This includes carpeting of all internal areas in the roof space, the metal would be exposed otherwise.
Skyline sliding cover – Which is fitted to the underside of the bed and slides forward when the roof is down to cover in canvas from the inside.
Dimmable strip lighting. – This includes 2 x 2m long strip lights which run along side the canvas line on the inside of the van.
Basecmapers Bi-fold Roof bed – We make this out of quality high pressure laminate furniture ply with aluminium edges. This gives a sleek and professional finish. It is then fitted on gas rams, the bi-fold bed is double hinged to give additional head room in the rear of the van.
